2009 St. Mary's Flu Prevention Policy
In order to maximize the health and safety of our parishioners during the H1N1 flu crisis, St. Mary's has made the
following changes to the liturgy:
Holy Communion
- Temporarily available only as the host.
- All are encouraged to receive
in the hand.
- Eucharistic Ministers use a hand sanitizing gel available
in the sacristy
and also in the bathrooms in the gathering
space before serving at Mass.
Sign
of Peace
- Temporarily called the Greeting of Peace
- Multiple
forms of greeting allowed, including those without hand contact.
Holy Water
- Baptismal Font will be temporarily covered and used
only for Baptisms. - Holy Water
dispenser will be available in the gathering space.
Also, the tops of the pew backs
will be Lysol wiped on Mondays and Fridays.
If you are exhibiting flu symptoms (fever, headaches, body aches,
profound fatigue), please stay at home for
your own good and for others. God will understand.
