Children’s Choir &
Bells
All children in grades 1 through 5 are encouraged to participate
in our children’s choir and bell ensemble. This group teaches fundamental musical skills, helps to
develop an understanding our Catholic faith, and provides an opportunity to form friendships with other children whose families
are involved in the parish. Weekly rehearsals are held at 5:30 – 6:15 on your choice of Mondays or
Tuesdays (immediately following their Religious Education class, members come directly to practice). The
group sings twice a month at Mass, and for holidays and special events.
Spirit Alive
Junior and senior high school students can
share in making contemporary, upbeat music through our Spirit Alive Band. Singers and instrumentalists
work together to provide musical leadership at two Masses a month (usually 5:00 Mass). Practices are held
on Sundays from 7:00 – 8:15.
Emmaus Choir
This
group of adults acts as “folk choir”, using their many voices and guitar, piano and percussion accompaniment to
lead the assembly in singing joyfully at 10:30 Masses on the 3rd Sunday of the month, and as part of the Celebration
Choir the last Sunday of each month. Rehearsals are held on Monday nights at 7:30. The
group is fun, friendly and open to all who wish to join them.
Magnificat Choir
Our
Magnificat Choir rehearses on Thursday nights at 7:30, and sings every Sunday (usually at 10:30). Members
enjoy preparing hymns, songs and choral anthems in 4-part harmony in a wide variety of styles from classical pieces and traditional
hymns through gospel-style numbers and contemporary songs. No prior experience is necessary.
Marion Handbell Choir
The
Marion Handbell Choir enjoys opportunities to prepare and present special bell pieces and hymn enrichments for Masses and
more. They rehearse 6:30 – 7:30 on Thursdays. Even if you’ve never rung,
you’ll be able to make some wonderful music more easily than you’d think with these wonderful, fun-to-play instruments!
MorningSong Bell Choir
MorningSong
is designed to be a bell choir for ringers with no previous experience. Come and see for yourself how easy
it is to make wonderful music with these easy-to-learn instruments. Rehearsals will be held Monday mornings
at 10:00 am, lasting approximately 1 hour.
Joyful Noise
Joyful Noise is a group,
like Spirit Alive, that will provide more contemporary, upbeat music for Masses on a regular basis. Singers,
guitarists, bass players, percussionists, keyboard players and other musicians are all welcome to participate.
Rehearsal and Mass schedule will be determined by consensus at an informational meeting to be held soon.
